Deadwood Removal

Dead wood is defined as dead, dying or diseased branches on a tree. Unfortunately dead wood is often hard to spot and needs an expert to accurately diagnose.

Things to look out for may include, bark peeling away, leafless branches, curling or dying leaves or any type of fungus on the tree.

Removing dead wood is a complicated task as you must know exactly which parts of the tree to remove and which parts to keep.

When you are removing dead wood, the tree can quickly callous over to try and protect itself. Much like with pruning, this can lead to pests and parasites entering the tree.

Removing dead wood is important as a tree will expel all its energy trying to protect itself and the dying branches rather than growing properly.

To maintain the health of the tree it is recommended dead wood be removed in winter while the leaves are still on the tree, this can occur at the same time pruning is taking place.

Our arborists may also recommend the dead wood which has been removed from the tree be placed around the trunk, this is where tree can absorb between 80 - 90 per cent of their nutrients and is an important part of maintaining the ecosystem.

FREE TREE INSPECTION

We provide FREE tree inspections to customers living in the Mornington Peninsula. Contact us today on 0415 776 062 to find out how we can service you.

What to expect at your free tree inspection

The first thing we need to do is assess your situation, here we are not only looking at the tree(s) being removed but also any dangers around the area or underground that could be affected by the removal of the tree(s). Cut It Right Tree Service offer a FREE tree inspection service within the Mornington Peninsula. The inspection usually only takes 15 - 20 minutes and will give us a good opportunity to understand your specific needs.

Once we have assessed the trees we will then provide you with a written quotation. In some cases a permit form the council may be required to remove the tree(s), if so we will give you all the information and assistance you will need to acquire them. If you have happy with our quote and wish to proceed we can set up a time and date to start your job.

What to expect on the day

A time will be arranged prior to the day. Upon arrival we are already scanning the area looking for hazards (powerlines, plumbing, telephone, gas, water) and ways to protect your property. We will hold a small toolbox meeting with you that will confirm the job details before starting. During the course of the removal you will notice our team communication throughout the process. We have one team in the tree and one team clearing the debris on the ground. Once the removal is complete the team tidy the area and return any moved property back to its original position (tables, chairs and pot plants etc.).

How to book

When you ask for a quote, it ought to be fair and competitively priced. It is a good idea to procure two or three different estimates. This will help you decide which company you want to hire to get the job done. Additionally, this will help you make an informed decision by comparing the companies and people you will be dealing with.

Customer Feedback

Highly recommend this service for their excellence, promptness and professionalism. Quentin provided invaluable information on our trees and our requirements and services he could provide. These included pruning overhanging branches and possum guards on very large gum tree. The tree appears to be doing well and is looking healthier with lots of new growth. Other tree overhanging the house was also pruned to avoid damaging the house. Thank you John and Lesley Langwarrin

Very Professional, new all the rules and implemented them, while dealing with our jumbo tree (5 times bigger than our house) that had branches over the house power cable and the close to the street power.
